Preamble

Given the state of the world, our intention to preserve the legacy of a single artist can only be justified by the hope of keeping the small lights shining that his art tries to bring into the world; and by the endeavour that the work on and in this ivory tower will somehow also benefit those on the outside in the broadest sense.
